Connecting Families To Needed Community Resources

Supporting, Connecting, & Educating Expectant + New Families In Need

Urban Baby Beginnings programs have been built through the support and feedback provided by individuals within the community. UBB seeks to preserve the community's voice in initiatives that matter, prompting the creation of several in-house programs.

UBB's Diaper Bank supports and connects members to needed community resources, hosting diaper duty popups to help teach families about their maternal care and newborn options while addressing the need for basic necessities.

We Are Here For You

Diaper Duty Pop Up

1 in 3 children experiences diaper need. While diapers and wipes are always our most needed items, some families often struggle with other essentials to help their babies thrive. At a diaper duty popup, families will learn about their options for prenatal care, birth, and newborn care while learning new skills to care for themselves and their family. Every participant will walk away with a comfort bag, skills to cope with stress, knowledge of resources, and a community of people that are walking this journey with them.

Diaper Bank

Diaper Bank

Through our diaper bank and support programs, we have provided emergency support services for families experiencing homelessness, medical challenges, or a disaster in Virginia through community-based partnerships.

UBB's Diaper Bank provides baby essentials, child and adult education, as well as, prenatal and postpartum support in the Central Virginia and Hampton Roads areas.

We Are More Than Diapers

The Diaper Bank provides diapers to social service organizations that are already helping families in need through comprehensive programs and services. The Diaper Bank has found that distributing diapers in this way ensures they reach those who need them most.  By working with organizations that are already well established in the community and currently working with families in need, the Diaper Bank ensures that the diapers collected are distributed to infants and toddlers in the most efficient and timely manner. More facts can be found here.

For families in the midst of a crisis, a clean diaper can change everything.

Do You Need Diaper Help?

UBB's Diaper Bank works with Agency Partners to provide diapers to the community through our Agency Network program. We are unable to accept direct referrals from the community at this time.

If you need help connecting with a community partner or have questions please email us at info@urbanbabybeginnings.org.
