Job Title: UBB Funding and Development Officer Job Overview: As the UBB (Urban Baby Beginnings) Grant Writer and Development Officer, you will be instrumental in driving the organization's grant writing efforts and leading comprehensive fundraising initiatives. With a specific focus on securing federal, state, local, and regional grants related to maternal child health, you will play a crucial role in ensuring UBB's continued growth and impact. The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in a related field and have demonstrated experience in successful grant writing and fundraising. This role requires active participation in fundraising events and cultivating relationships with donors to support the organization's financial goals. This position is based in Norfolk, VA and is not a work from home position. Responsibilities:

• Research, identify, and prioritize relevant federal, state, local, and regional grant opportunities in the field of maternal child health.
• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, and major donor cultivation.
• Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, collaborating with the marketing and communications team for effective outreach and engagement.
• Manage and maintain a donor database, ensuring accurate tracking of contributions, pledges, and donor interactions for personalized stewardship and cultivation efforts.
• Develop and submit comprehensive grant proposals and applications, aligning with UBB's objectives and specific requirements of each funding opportunity.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to understand programmatic needs and develop strategies for successful grant acquisition and sustainable funding.
• Maintain strong relationships with funding agencies, foundations, and stakeholders to enhance grant acquisition and fundraising efforts.
• Provide regular reports and updates to the executive team and the Board of Directors on the progress of fundraising activities, grant acquisitions, and donor relationships.
• Attend fundraising events and networking opportunities to represent the organization and build partnerships with potential donors and supporters.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in fundraising and grant writing within the maternal child health sector.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, social work, or nonprofit management.
• Proven experience in leading successful fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including cultivating and stewarding donor relationships.
• Demonstrated experience in writing successful grants, preferably within the field of maternal child health.
• A track record of securing and managing federal, state, local, and regional grants.
• Familiarity with donor management software and CRM systems.
• Strong understanding of the grant application process, budget development, compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas and data effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute creative fundraising strategies aligned with UBB's mission and values.
